DCCS Celebrates 10! …and other hot topics…

DCCS Celebrates 10!
We are officially 10 days into our “Building a Dynamic Community” campaign! We are off to an amazing start (just shy of $30,000), but we must continue to build momentum.

We are looking for 100 volunteers to help us celebrate our 10th day in a BIG way. Celebrating with us is easy. Just ask 10 of your friends to donate $10 to the campaign today.

With 100 people asking 10 friends for $10, we will collect $10,000 in donations on our 10th day of the campaign! {See what we did there ;)}

Isn’t it great to see how easy it is to make a BIG change when we work together as a Dynamic Community! If you are celebrating with us today, be sure to let us know via Facebook, twitter, or instagram, and then email your results to Elysa and Sara, so they can celebrate you!

Do You (or Someone You Know) Have Superpowers?
DCCS is looking for a dynamic and creative team of educators! You must believe that every student has potential, and you must be passionate about providing quality, unique educational opportunities for students with intellectual and developmental disabilities. If this is you, then you may have what it takes to be a DCCS superhero. For more information, please visit our DCCS employment page.

Strong Back? Willing Spirit?

URGENT: We need your help moving furniture. On Thursday, July 10, we are in need of at least four additional assistants to move office furniture from the warehouse just outside of Creedmoor Road where it has been stored. The owner of the warehouse will have a truck for us to use. We just need some people!

Please contact David Prestrud if you can help.

Looking Ahead…
We have two great ways to support our “Building a Dynamic Community” campaign! The first is an artist’s reception and benefit hosted by local artist, and DCCS parent, Karen Raimondi. On Friday, July 25 from 5:30-8:00pm at Stars Theater and Art Center in Fuquay-Varina, Ms. Raimondi will donate 100% of her art sales to DCCS! The evening will include live music, heavy hors d’oeurve, and of course beautiful art to peruse and purchase. There is a suggested donation of $20 at the door. Please share this poster, and then gather your friends and family for a special evening of art and fellowship.

The second event is a Dine-in Benefit on Monday, July 28 from 4-7pm at Rookies Sports Park in Durham. A portion of all food sales during this time will be donated to DCCS. Live music will be provided by local artist Amanda Williams, and donations will be accepted at the door. Please share this poster, and the join us for an afternoon of good food and fun music!
